This year edition will consist of a cultural event entitled: Women and Culture: How can Women in the Diaspora boost African Cultural radiance?

For decades, #African women have been portrayed negatively both in #media and communities. Subject to objectification or associated to insignificant topics that portray them weaker actors, women are the #key #actors in the battle of changing the #narrative on African women.

Some of the ways women can contribute to this change of #mindset and narrative is through #cultural and #creative #expression- #art, #literature, #cinema, #music, #design, #photography, #fashion etc.

More 29 million #jobs are created globally through #cultural and #creative #industries essentially boosting #economies. The role of #women therefore in this industry remains a #vector for #change.

2018 is a pivotal year, the European year for #Cultural #Heritage, the year where one of awakening movie (#BlackPanther) was released, the event will give further impetus to the global debate on African Renaissance and how Women can play a role.
